The Struggle Is Real.

Yesterday I received a call from a very dear friend. It had been a few months since we last spoke and he was concerned. The truth is, a few unreturned emails were sitting in my inbox and it caused him to worry. Then he said "I wanted to make sure you were okay and noticed that you hadn't updated your blog in awhile." Busted.

I have to be honest and admit that this is one of the hardest parts of running my business, which is wildly ironic considering legitimate businesses pay me to write blogs on their behalf. Need a blog for your business? No problem; I can knock it out in a matter of minutes. Need a blog for my own business? Crickets. It's like the cobbler who has no shoes. Or the chef with an empty fridge.

So, I justify. A lot of the work I do for clients is confidential. A lot of the work I do focuses on analytics and metrics, and doesn't exactly make for leisure reading. A lot of the time my sense of humor borders on the inappropriate (but then again, it is MY blog). I'm tired. I'm hungry. I'm watching paint dry. You get the idea...

So, this is a blog about struggling to write a blog. And, the immediate realization as to exactly why companies often opt to hire someone to help with this.

And so, I pledge to be more consistent with this blog. It will be hard. I may have to reach on some of them. But, it is good business.
